This dance film explores the pressures of being a woman in society. From grittiness and chaos to beauty and intimacy, the film portrays five women through symbolism inspired by “The Birth of Venus” - the birth of beauty in the world - and how we, as women, are being reborn again and stepping into our power.

 

Filmed on the shore of the ocean, the waves and expansive sky reflect the tenderness and beauty held within, amidst the struggle. The costumes reflect strength and showcase the parts of our bodies that society tells us to hide or be ashamed of. In challenging times, this is an energy that needs to be released into the world - to help us hold onto hope.
