Alyssa Rainey is a performing artist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her dance training at Dancers’ Workshop and was a junior and senior company member with Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre under the direction of Molly Buchmann and Sharon Matthews. Rainey performed with BRBT for their annual seasons from 2014 to 2016 holding ensemble and solo roles in productions of The Nutcracker: A Tale From the Bayou and spring concert selections including a reproduction of Celebrations by Martha Graham. Rainey received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in dance from Belhaven University, where her training focused on modern dance, under the instruction and direction of Erin Scheiwe Rockwell, Krista Bower, Elizabeth Sweatt, Clara Grace Watts, Mia Whitehead, and Laura Morton. Rainey has performed in ensemble, solo, and duet works in the Belhaven University Dance Ensemble concerts from 2017 to 2021. During her training at Belhaven, Rainey worked with guest artists and instructors such as Bill Wade, Steve Rooks, Whitney Dufrene, Brandon Welch, Vincent Hardy, Frankie Peterson, Randall Flinn, and Julianna Slager. This is her first year as a company member with Of Moving Colors.
